Hey everyone. I actually just found this website and I'm somwhat stoked that there are so many of us who want a better future.

I'm Mari, 16 and I live in GA. I've been here since i was 8. I'm originally from Venezuela, and well if you don't know the situation there is bloody horrible. And life has been bittersweet since getting here, so yeahh.

My older brother kinda messed up his grades so he can't do much about college, but I really hope i can get into a good one(NYU!) and just make my parent's hard work pay off.

I love meeting new people so tell yo storyy:smile:

What part of venezuala are you from? Im from cabudare, lara. I wanna go back to visit, and travel, but we can't.... Im guessing you're in NY. Good luck with everything. Try to do a dual enrollment in your local college, search for my post that talks about florida in state tuition ;)

But I second his suggestion, look up dual enrollment in your area, and welcome to DAP.

Hi Mari.

I just found this website too, and its pretty great. Before this I thought I was pretty much one of the few in this situation. But as long as you stay focused in school you should be able to go to whatever school you choose, I got into NYU, but gave up on trying to pay for it, but I'm sure that if I had more determination back then it would have been possible. Just make sure to stay motivated and never give up, no matter how frustrating things become.
