What Does DHS Know About You?
 
This concerns an American citizen filing a FOIA with CBP to find out what the government knew about the individual in question.I know many here aren't US citizens but the fact is I find it interesting why some privacy advocates are sometimes up in arms concerning what info the Government has on them.

The document reveals that the DHS is storing the reader’s:

cbp

* Credit card number and expiration (really)
* IP address used to make web travel reservations
* Hotel information and itinerary
* Full Name, birth date and passport number
* Full airline itinerary, including flight numbers and seat numbers
* Cruise ship itinerary
* Phone numbers, incl. business, home & cell
* Every frequent flyer and hotel number associated with the subject, even ones not used for the specific reservation.

I honestly don't know since I don't work for DHS or a privacy advocacy group to know,but considering the amount of information they have on this US citizen it makes you wonder what rights do US citizens truly have protected,& where do the undocumented stand in all of this.

That I diddle old ladies on the weekend for fun and intrigue.

In all seriousness though this is exactly why I'm so paranoid about my privacy, this stuff is bloody scary. Even with my "status" if someone really wanted to find out they could probably figure out what time I take my daily dumps by simply sifting through obscure databases and implementing statistical algorithms on their results. And this is supposed to be the free-est country on earth...right...

This only for people crossing the US border. This is not suppose to be used for domestic flights.

time and date of the day when the border was crossed, name, passport #, credit card # for the plane tickets, alright, this seems to be within the information they are "allowed" to have since all these actions pertain to flight security. But how do they know your hotel reservations? Do they just start tracking your CC# use on the web?

Ask yourself, how FBI and CIA works?

They eventually have a very complicated intelligence system to work around it. I have heard many stories about illegals caught after running away from their settlement(their original living place, the place immigration sent letters to them), like running to another state.
