i dont know about 1, but depends on the school you applied to, sometimes they accept transfer credits up to a certain limit.

for (2), i can tell you as a follow mechanical engineering student, the 1st two years of engineering classes are pretty basic in most college, it will be, in your case, calculus, static, dynamics, and probably circuits. If your community college offers these courses, u can probably transfer it over. However, a lot of high level engineering classes have pre-require courses. If you are missing these courses, you should expect to stay in that university for more than 2 years.

Get your AS at Montgomery College and other basic classes before transferring, then look at the transfer guidelines for those universities you want to get into ie. http://uh.edu/transfer. After you are done with that get in touch with the international students department of the university and see what you can do to get a scholarship based on your academic merits. You will probably also be considered an out of state student (non ab540) so even if you can get in the university with no scholarships it will be really hard to pay for the tuition, in this case you are better off in Texas being a HB1403 student. Cali is definitely the state to be in for a degree in Mechatronics. Best of luck.

LIke the person above me said, your first two years will pretty much be the same as any person in any field of engineering. I'm a civil engineering major at a CC, and im taking the same classes as a mechanical, or nuclear engineering major... first two years are pretty much the same.

I'm sure those schools you listed accept transfer students. I know that Purdue does for a fact.

What I would suggest doing is, to certainly apply to your community college; and also apply to private schools. In our situation, private schools sometimes offer financial aid--whereas most state schools don't offer us financial aid (unless you are in one of those in-state tuition states). But even then, you still have to pay. There are schools out there, pretty damn good schools, that offer to meet 100 percent of our financial aid need regardless of our status.

What you need to do, is get working RIGHT NOW on a list of schools that offer your major. Call each and every single one of them and first ask if they accept undocumented students (tell them your situation!) and then ask what their financial aid policies would be for you.

I wasted TWO YEARS of my life because i thought that there was no hope whatsoever for me to go to school... But there IS hope, VERY LIMITED.. but it exists.

Thanks, I just took an admission test for the community college and I did a great job. I also talked to a counselor and I just realized how hard it will be to pay for my college... I never thought it would be so hard and expensive...
But still, I'm not giving up.

why not go to school in UT? (sorry if you answered this i didnt read through all the posts)

If you are in the top 10% and you have high SAT scores, you might be able to get some MERIT scholarships or something. Either way before CC you should try to apply, you never know, might end up getting accepted somewhere its cheaper than a CC.
