Undocumented students push Scott Brown on military idea

Quote:

Student immigrant advocates are pressing Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown to support a proposal that would allow undocumented students to gain residency if they want to join the military.

Group representative Kyle de Beausset said Brown showed interest in the military idea after they met earlier this month.

Renata Teodoro, the group’s development director, said students want Brown to meet undocumented students who would join the military.

Brown spokeswoman Gail Gitcho said that the Massachusetts Republican will review the legislation if and when it comes before the Senate.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS!!!! PERHAPS DID THEY PAY ATTENTION TO ME AFTER ALL!!! We have to take a wait and see, but when they went to the office i let them know that Brown voted against the instate tuition bill in mass and that "instate tuition" should not even come up. Told them to focus on the military option and other aspects.

What is the use of having a military option if we are not going to use it? We can use it with people such as Brown. We get some using instate tuition. Others with getting a license. others by wanting to become doctors. And others with the military option.

Graham is a automatic yes since he was part of the creation of the bill. I know he backed out but when its time to vote. It will be a yes from Graham and Brown was already considering this because he had spoken to Obama. So we have 2 Yes's from the Reps. We will get more when they stress the Border Security.

We are talking about the dream act here not CIR. I wonder if you make comments like that just to piss people off.

Lol the funny part is that although the bill says only 2 years of service in the military then you will get your Permanent Residency card but their is no 2 year contract to serve in the military. As of right now the military only has 3 years and a couple of months of service contracts. Maybe they should play with that language and say that they will serve for at least 3 years since that is the minimum anyways.

2 years in Military or 2 years in college/university and/or if you have already a degree. 2 years can be an exceptions for the Dreamers?
