Flying this Year.

Hi Guys, end of June i am wanting to talk a trip from nyc to houston for a few days, then houston to kansas city for a few days then back to nyc. between the 24th and july 5th.

I have an expired texas Dl (04). In the past I have used as secondary, when asked, my College ID, My credit/debit cards, my health insrance card, and a nyc private school caregiver card for work with photo . This has all be sufficent in the past- ofcourse extra bag check but im used to that.

my fear is one lawyer a few months ago said not to travel ever. and i was like whatever. then he said there was astry about a boy on spring break who got questioned and ICE at airport have these computers all they do is enter your name and can see your status- he got detained.

I am currently in process of working on U-visa, the org doing it is thru the NYC bar assocation they said it was fine to fly, much safer than bus. and not to worry but at same time keep thier number on me. but they said they arent looking for that unless your a safety threat at airports.

Im confused!! I also heard about new ID screenings, advanced ones this year..

Any tips, or help!!

is it ok?? i have the past 6 years from NYC to houston fine.

thanks guys!

If your application has been filed,I see no reason why you should be concerned provided you have a copy of your pending paperwork.I would definitely exclude the Bus idea if it heads to western parts of NY close to the Border.

Afaik,CBP only does pre-inspections from Puerto Rico to the mainland US.I also have not seen any news stories or official announcements that TSA or Customs were or have changed their rules.Just to be on the safe side,I'd suggest flying with someone whom is in the US Legally just in case and keep the number of the person handling your paperwork on your person just in case.

When I flew out of Miami into Cancun a couple of days ago, they didn´t even check my passport for a visa or anything. It might´ve had to do with the fact that I was going to Mexico with a Mexican passport, but idk, I thought that they would at least ask me about it.

Those stories of people who get caught at the airport seem big because no one reports stories of people who get by fine. :) It'd be a low chance that your fears would be realized... I handed my passport over to the TSA guy and he just commented on my picture. Apparently my hair color was weird..

Hold on a sec. If you re illegal, you have no trouble flying out of the country. You have trouble getting back in. How did that go?

Prettyjolie is a special case... she is in Mexico to adjust her status (if I"m not mistaken) and when she comes back it will be with a visa. Good luck with that by the way! =)

NK74 don't do what jolie did. she went back to adjust and will come back with no problem. but if you do that, you won't be able to come back my friend

Thanks, I know, that' why I got confused.

You know, I am not a dreamie, I just have overstayed my visa; lately I feel more and more imprisoned. I don't care about getting legal status, just that the 10 year bar I am subjected is removed so I can leave and return at a later time.

Lately, in my desperation, I am thinking of sneaking out of the country illegally so I can return free and clear. Has anyone heard anything similar or has any ideas?

what do you mean your not a dreamie?? im an overstay too. how long have you overstayed?? if you do leave, you will have to stay in your country for 10 years. once that 10 year is over, you can try to come back legally.. but if you do get married you can apply here legally since you came with a visa. why would you want to sneak out illegally?? aren't you afraid of getting caught???
