My grandma died...
 

She died on Friday. I haven't seen her in years. My mom is fucking destroyed.

The question is...is it really worth it?? Waiting...and waiting...and waiting...

That's all I (well, I'm sure most of us) do. Just wait, while my life is on...standby.

I don't know how much longer I can wait.

Man, good things come to those that are patient. Set a deadline for CIR or Dream Act. I know that if nothing passes by the time I graduate, then I will take off to my home country. I think that this situation that we are in has given us strength and will. If the U.S. doesn't want us, then screw it. This is not the only place to succeed. I am sorry to hear about your loss maurolv. Quite a few family members have died in this past year, and I've felt like shit cause I didn't get to see them in their funeral, or even before their death. But we have to remain strong.

hey maurolv, im truly sorry about your grandmother. your mom must be hurting a lot. i really don't know what to tell you in a situation like this.... i know your family is hurting right now.. i say give this another year or so then decide what you want to do.. god bless you and your family and good luck with everything

Sorry.. My grandfather whom I never met died yesterday too. They pulled the plug on him because although he was in major pain, he wanted to wait to see my mother.. The issue is that she couldn't leave the U.S. to go see him, but he still insisted on staying on life support.. He was continuously losing consciousness and snapping back into it, until finally my mother's sister decided to ask the doctor to let him go. My mother didn't see him for 18 years, and she regrets it because she feels the reason why our family is in this situation is because she married my father and came to the U.S.; her father told her not to see my father, but she did against her father's will anyways. Now she's living in regret...

And to answer your question, waiting is worth it.. FOR THE MEANTIME.. Like the other members said, set a deadline. if all less fails, its time to proceed to the life you SHOULD be living, elsewhere. Take care.

Hi, I'm sorry.

My grandfather passed last fall and my mom is still torn up about it. She was actually unhappy when she got her GC recently (because it came when it was no longer needed).

Whether it's worth it to keep on waiting... I am still undecided.
