Important Questoins Re: Passport
Hello All,
I have an important question, so PLEASE, if you have any information please respond to this. I was brought to the USA when I was 8 years old from Iran. I am now 26, and still do not have my green card. I am now engaged to a wonderful guy, and we plan to get married soon, however, I do not have any type of I.D., which is required when you get married in California. Therefore, I need to get my Iranian passport (the only thing I think I can get) and I was wondering if I can do that without having a green card, or some kind of legal status here. Has anyone done this? And specifically has anyone done this for an Iranian passport through the embassy of Pakistan in D.C. ? Additionally, if I am unable to get my passport, how can I get married in CA? I am a college graduate I have two degrees, and the only thing I have is a student I.D. from my school with only a picture and name (no DOB). And I also have my translated birth certificate and SS card (not valid for employment) Does anyone know if that is enough to get married with? THANK YOU ALL!! :D |
Re: Important Questoins Re: Passport
Congratulations! Although I don't have experience with Iranian passports, you should be able to get a passport and married. Just call your consulate and find out what is needed (usually old passport if you have one, birth certificate, photos, filled out a form with personal info, fee money). As for getting married, call your local county clerks office and ask about what you need (passport should work as photo ID), but they won't care about your status so don't worry.

Try using your birth certificate and school ID to get your passport..
