Random Question... Please help
Hi Dreamers,
My name is Christian.. you can also call me Chris. I am 22 years old and I live in potato haven (Idaho). :) I have a random question... here it goes.. Well my friend is leaving real soon to this airforce bootcamp thing he will be there for like 2 months. He wants me to attend his bootcamp graduation/ceremony which will be at the airforce base. The thing is that they require some type of government issued ID... My friend knows my situation (no papers)... so do you guys know of anything I could use?? An international license, a matricula, ... Umm... ?? Hope this makes sense.. I am not the best writer/speller/explainer.. so be nice :) Btw, this ceremony will be held in San Antonio, Tx. Hope to get some advice (REAL SOON), Thank you. :) |
Re: Random Question... Please help
My boyfriend is in the military and I've had to go with him to the military base a few times. They just want to identify you. I actually have a government issued ID, so I just used that. Try using a passport, my boyfriend's mom is a PR so she only has her foreign passport. I'm sure that's what she uses anyway.
Another thing, who's taking you? Unless the person who's driving you is also in the military, they're going to ask for car insurance, registration, and driver's license. I'm not sure about ceremonies--because I'm sure family members go and everything-- just letting you know ahead of time that way you're "safe than sorry". Keep us updated :-) |

Re: Random Question... Please help
You're welcome. They're definitely going to ask for ID, for security purposes. Do you have a matricula or anything issued by the government with your information and picture?

Re: Random Question... Please help
as long as your not driving on base then your fine but if it's %100 check then your going to need some kind of ID. they don't care if your undocumented but if they ask for ID and you don't have it then they might tell you no you cannot go in or they'll let you in... Try getting a passport before his graduation

Re: Random Question... Please help
I'm only speaking from observation, but San Antonio is a party town. I've been out on the Riverwalk (big restaurant/bar/shop area) and people who like like recent Air Force grads were out with their families. Even if you miss the ceremony, the barhopping and site seeing (Alamo is in walking distance) would be a great way to celebrate with your friend too.

Re: Random Question... Please help
Do you have a high school ID card? If you do and it has your picture and name on it then you can use that too. Your friend will be adding you to his guest list for his graduation and you do have to show some sort of ID to the guard at the gate. They just want to make sure you have permission to be at the graduation. You can show any form of ID as long as it has your name and picture. Of course you can also try getting your passport a lot of people use them as a form of ID to get on base all the time.
