My boyfriend made me watch this conference...sigh. And in my despair, I couldn't find the unsubscribe feature here, so here we go again.

As Sen.Durbin explained his reasons for giving the Republicans what they wanted - in exchange for nothing, I must add- I thought: I would never want this man as my lawyer.

He told the reporters that when Republicans asked him to drop the DA as an amendment, he said ok, but you promise (to vote for the DA)?
The Reps asked him to limit the eligibility age, he said ok, but you promise (to vote for the DA)?
The Repbs asked to vote on the tax cut bill first, he said ok, but you promise (to vote for the DA)?

A reporter put him on the spot when he/she asked "Why, but why would you do that if the votes wouldn't change?" And poor Sen.Durbin stammered. It made me want to cry.
