My SSN and E-Verify

I have a valid social security number, but on the card it says "not valid for employment."

If this is checked on e-verify, does anybody know what would happen?

is there any way i can confirm that it will pass?

Not all employers are using E-Verify. Does your employer use it?

Moral character is based on registering to SSS therefore it would not disqualify you.

Yes your social would pass E-verify. E-Verify only checks if the Social Security Number matches the name and possibly date of birth.

Even though is illegal for you to work DHS will overlook it and you will still qualify for DA.

If DA disqualified every dreamer that works illegally then nobody would qualify!!!!!

But it does not check the eligibility of employment?

How do you know that for sure? SSA has different categories of Social Security Numbers. Many of us have SSNs with "Valid for Employment Only with DHS Authorization". I'd be surprised if they didn't check the SSN category to verify employment authorization. Where did you get this information?

How are you supposed to support yourself and your family by not working at all? This is absurd!

Not according to ALL versions of the DA bill.
You do have to go through a criminal background check though. If its clear, you are in.

I wonder about this as well. I do know it matches names to ssn, but what about a Valid Employment Only with DHS authorization ssn. What is brought up by the system with those ssn? Does anyone know?

Re: My SSN and E-Verify

yes, and as far as I know, working without authorization is not a criminal offense.
Entry Without Inspection is a criminal act ( http://codes.lp.findlaw.com/uscode/8/12/II/VIII/1325), overstaying a visa, however, is a civil offense. Overstayers who are employed through their valid SSN (with the annotation: "Valid for Employment only with DHS authorization") are most likely not subject to criminal penalties (if anyone has more legal information on this, please insert here).

Those of us who have not engaged in any criminal act, should not be labeled as "CRIMINALS" (or may be even "illegals"). Right wing xenophobes can be sued for Libel for calling us criminals. That's according to the EXISTING LAWs of this land.

E-verify is actually very accurate.

More info here about how it works >> CLICK! <<

Honestly I'd stick to employers that don't use e-verify...
