Employer sponsorship? How much does it cost?

I spoke with a powerful state politician today. We started talking about my background, I didn't wanna tell him I was undocumented, but eventually did. He said that I should be able to adjust my status if an employer sponsorship... Then he told me that immigration reform will never pass, and so I should buckle down for a good paying job that doesn't require SSN.

So does anyone know how much employer sponsorship costs?

^Can't disclose that info. But I'm starting to believe him by just looking at the current state of America today.

That's what Im going thru right now I already gone thru half of the process and just waiting for the approval letter. So far I've paid around 4-5 K including lawyer fees. Also there's a lot of filing involved on your employer side so he or she better be an organized and patient person! Good luck !

So the employers aren't the ones who pay right? It's out of my own pocket? I was concerned about the employer having to pay, but if that's not the case, then I'm relieved. So if I have about 5K lying around, I can ask an employer to fill out all the paper work, pay a lawyer, and that's it?

Yea but you have to make sure that it's a reliable employer ( I have a down to earth employer ) . What I mean by reliable is if they pay taxes on time, hires you full time and basically has ALOT of money to petition somebody. But that's not it, first off may I know how old you are if you don't mind? I am 20 and it was a struggle to prove that I do have experience on the job I'm currently in ( atleast 2 years prior ). The good thing is that my lawyer knows his stuff and just made up some reasoning. I've actually know a lot of people who have also taken this path and were successful. It will take around 4-5 years for the whole process to be completed and get you a working visa. But again nothing is guaranteed but it will save you from deportation because your papers are going to be "in process".

And also I forgot to mention that your employer MUST show a proof that he tried advertising the job somewhere for 2 months ( I think ) and couldn't get a person with paper to work for him/her, that's why they're trying sponsore you to fill the gap.

Hey, MiGSTeR, it would also be possible for that employer to send you through your MBA school correct? I've heard from professors about it. They employers who have the money can send you to graduate school, as along as your agree to work for them for a certain number of years?

Thanks.

Hey, well if it's part of the "actual" job then yes. Heck I don't even work full time! I guess they don't care that much what happens in the background as long as your employer is capable of sponsoring illegals (undocumented ).

Ingredients for success:

NICE Rich employer

Great lawyer

And atleast 5k

Good luck and if possible, talk to a lawyer for a more detailed explanation as they can bend some rules here and there! :)

Is it really that simple? I have a USC bro-in-law who owns a restaurant. Can I just get him to hire me and sponser me and that means I'll be on my way to legal status? Seems too good to be true.
