Thinking about college any advice?
Well lately i been thinking about college, money wise i think i can manage. My biggest problem is Ive been of school for almost 3 years, Im turning 21 in couple of weeks an Im sure as many of us already know life isn't working out the way i thought it would be. I graduated back in 2008 the plan was for me to work for a year save money an then go to school.well couldn't find a job for sometime plus other life issues got in the way of me going to college.
So now i feel like this is it if i don't get started this year i will never go an ill be wasting my potential.i know what i wanna study and i looked online at some schools with great programs of what im interested in. so i guess my reason for posting is any advice for a dreamer thinking about college,an also school wise since i been off school close to 3 years any preparation advice will be welcome |

Re: Thinking about college any advice?
yeah, keep going. :) no matter how long youve been out of school--theres no age cap. If you really want to go back to school, dont let anything stand in your way, especially not your status. dont let it be your weak point, on the contrary, let it be an inspiration to keep going, and to know that besides all the hardships youve gone through, you still have been able to make yourself educated. that and...
look for scholarships.!!!!!!!!!!!! theyre out there! and it will be worth it :) the same goes to all of you. good luck. |

My brother was out of school for more than 3 years. He started college last year when he was 22. He worked hard and get almost all A's.

Go for it!
Go and enroll at your local community college. Start with one class if you must, but the important part is that you get some momentum going. |

Good morning, good evening, good....... something!
You said you'll be 21 soon, you're still very young. Life doesn't have such deadlines. You won't be "behind in your life" at all. Just take a few classes and see how it goes. Some people don't go back to school until they are in their 40s and their children are out of the house, or when they have lost a job they did for many years. If Miley Cyrus' grandmother can do it, so can you. ( I think her grandmother graduated from college a year or 2 years ago). Case in point: In November, I met a lady who just had just started going back to school to get her Master's in Psychology. I was left speechless when she told me she's 50 years old. She has her bachelor's in fashion design but she's currently working as a makeup artist in NYC. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that you can go back to school at any time. Best of luck! |
