What do you do to pass the time?

I know most of you are in pretty much the same situation as me, stuck with not many options. I can't work and thus can't afford to go to school. I stay at home most days and just wondered what some of you do to pass the time? Either waiting on the Dream Act to pass or your own paperwork to be accepted. I try to stay as productive as possible and prevent my brain from rotting from lack of use. I was just hoping that maybe some of you had some good ideas of how to spend the time while being limited so much. I spend a lot of time researching and reading up on my interests so that I am at least learning something, I also have various art and writing projects going on and I work out everyday. I figure that at least if I was healthy that would be one less thing for me to worry about. I still job hunt everyday but that has been unsuccessful for many months now. Any ideas, suggestions, or maybe something you do that has helped you out? I try to remain positive about my situation and hope for a resolution, but it can be frustrating. Patience doesn't even begin to cover.

I wish I had your temperament and patience. I'm in the same situation as are many others I'm sure. With me, it seems like during the day time my mood is much better but then after dinner I become depressed and get irritated at almost everything. The only thing going on for me is the gym right now. I have books in front of me to continue my studies but I'm absolutely not motivated at all. It seems like an impossible mountain for me to climb. I've stopped using my brain ever since I graduated from college. Need serious advice on how to get back on the study grind.

I understand that, some days it seems like no matter what I do to push my life forward I can't do anything and I end up so frustrated and angry that I pretty much shut down for the rest of the day, but then I try to do something that makes me happy or reminds me of a time when I was happy like revisit a childhood movie or draw pictures like I used to, it helps me relax and then I feel better about the day. Just thinking about some of the things that I do have in my life helps too and I know that I don't want to lose them, so I have to keep pushing, I have to give myself every opportunity to succeed, so that down the road I can tell myself that I lived my life to the fullest and I should be proud of myself.

Even though I haven't finished my degree, I try to keep up to date with what's going on in my field of study. Georgia banned undocumented students from its colleges and universities. So, there will be no degree in my immediate future unless immigration reform passes. But, I'm not going to give up trying to find another university willing to take me. THAT alone takes up a lot of my time. Outside of that, I'm trying to beef up my Spanish and learn some Mandarin.

I second that you should learn an additional language. At least it will give you some sort of focus/goal. When DA/immigration reform passes it'll be one more thing you can put on your resume.

I feel the same way some days. Running and going to the gym are keeping me sane at the moment.

I know how you feel, I had an interview not too long ago and I hope they do call me so I wount be all bored at my house. I live close to a park so I go work out as well, I also write songs, I try to help my mom cook but she always kicks me out cause I always do a mess lol. You should get together with some friends and go to the movies, out to eat, or just talk. If you do that your time will pass by fast! :)
