Commuting 2 hours for school is it possible?
 
has any one done this is it possible to commute from Torrance like 2 hours away without traffic to UCSD? Or has anyone commuted from there home to school on a 2 hour drive or more and is it do able?

It's possible but with today's gas prices, it's probably better to stay there.

I used to commute 2:30 via train/bus, if you are able to find that option it might not only be do-able but you could study while you commute.

Try finding a mass transit. Maybe a train? I've commuted from 30 min distance and I thought that was hell..

In NYC, I used to travel from the Bronx to Queens(total 5hours ) twice a week for schooland the Bronx to Longisland (total6 hours) twice a month for work.

It was possible since the public transit system was good and I was able to sleep on the train and bus. I don't know how things are in Cali.

Yes, NYC, Bronx, Queens, LI is a very Dream friendly region. First of all, there's many top notch universities which provide in state tuition. Commuting is very easy as well although you might have to buy monthly passes to make it cheaper.

Back then my total spent on transportation was 78 dollars a month... good old days... I almost got an heart attack when I went up to 81... but now.. I just try to walk everywhere...
