President Rick Perry?

I am curious: If Perry won, would we be entirely "screwed"? I ask this question because he has slammed the other candidates for having such a great disdain toward us.

I think he would help us in some way via a measure other than the DA. He is just not public about it.

I don't know man, I've learned not to trust ANY politician whether it be Democrat, Republican, Independent or some Orange colored party. I will always remember this though, we all would've been legal by now only if those 5 Democratic senators voted yes on the DA.

Politicians will always be politicians. Voting will only make 1 man richer than the other. That's the sad truth in today's world. Though I would much prefer a President who would do NOTHING ( like Obama ) than murder and/or deport us all (Cain, Bachmann, Palin )

We will always be used as tools to gather votes or just be blamed for the world's illness.

I totally agree. But, at least we have a candidate on the Republican side who claims to sympathize with us . . .

In the end, I prefer Obama over any of the Republicans. But, I sure wish Perry wins the Republican nominatin, so we are faced with a sort of a win-win situation.

I think Huntsman is the most viable Republican candidate for us, but of course the media wouldn't give him a chance. Perry is definitely second on my list.

Oh dude, I totally agree.

So, then the question becomes: Should we try to help Perry in anyway win the nomination?

Perry is a clone of Bush lol. He is business minded and worried about garnishing his future. He will ignore immigration and let the rich exploit us....and at the last resort if he tries to do anything it will be too late.

But we are forgetting, we never had the support of all the democrats, however, there were 5 republicans who either promised to support the measure or had supported the measure in the past and did not vote for it this time.

Those are the people who have been saying they support the DREAM Act, but when it comes to a vote said nay.

One comes to mind, who stood up during the debate for the defense authorization bill that had the DREAM Act and the repeal of DODT. She particularly stated that she would support the DREAM Act if it was a stand alone, and she would support the repeal if it was a stand alone, but she would not support it at that time because she saw it as an underhanded trick, that election resulted in 59 Yays, lost by one vote.

When repeal of DODT came up, she voted yay, when DREAM Act came up for vote as a stand alone and a far more strict bill she voted Nay!

the number one person who killed the DREAM Act in my opinion was Senator Collins

http://dreamact.info/forum/showthrea...t=never+forget

the other four on my list where
1- LeMieux who acted as he would be a potential yes after the dreamers made national headlines with a sign on the beach asking him to support the DREAM Act,

2- Senator Hatch, who co-wrote the DREAM Act, and then walked away from it.

3- Senator McCain who was a supporter of the DREAM Act at the beggining and a co-sponsor and then became one of the leading politicians against the DREAM Act.

4- Senator Snowe (debatable). There was nothing officially mentioned about her, but there was a dreamer who had been on this forum for a while who claimed she personally talked to her and she mentioned she would support the DREAM Act, it was a nay from her.

five senators, five supporters, some who campaigned as supporters of the bill but then voted no.

when I said I will never forget, I meant it.
