Learning a new language

I am currently learning Korean "hanguka". It is all self-taught with the help of a Korean friend. So far I love everything about Korea. I just tried Kimchee the other day and it was not bad at all.

I really want to visit Korea someday. With our current situation does that seem like an impossible dream? I’m originally from Mexico, not sure if that matters.

Are you guys learning a new language?

Italian, though I'm of Italian descent. It's harder to learn languages on one's own. I have to because of university requirements (though I guess I could have done French or Spanish to get it out of the way). My main interest is getting to a level where I can read and understand most of Dante's Divine Comedy. That should be true within a year or so.

Haha...If I were an Italian citizen, I wouldn't care too much :P I'm from Venezuela originally. And French fries = win.

I took 2 years of Japanese in college but after the whole nuclear meltdown I decided to stop since I don't want to live there anymore, although even Japan is looking like a better place than the US right now.
