Ex-undocumented? Relocated or moved on? How you been?
Like the title says, how are things going for you ex-dreamers in your new lives?
We may be no longer official dreamers qualifying for residency under the Dream Act, but in many ways I think we still fight for the same principles many people of this forum fight for weather still living in the USA or in each and every country we have chosen to relocate to. We want a better life, and we want justice. Where justice means the integration of the immigrant population into mainstream society no matter where we live. According to the website deftbeta posted in another thread, there is today a historic worldwide immigration movement that will not be seen again in decades. And I must say this is kind of what I notice it’s happening also. This is very good news to us all, dreamers or ex-dreamers no matter where we live. As a result of this I start this thread to discuss this movement, and to share our new life experiences as ex-dreamers in other countries. I have very high hopes that the quality of life of each and every one of us immigrants will only improve if it has not done so already. The way I see it, us ex-dreamers have a very special duty to fight for now. As we start out again almost from scratch, we need to be successful in our new goals and dreams so that others may have better life options and/or make more educated decisions. I'll start out by saying I've been alright in Mexico; better than I expected actually. I was currently working at an American company and have already gotten my driver's license and voting ID. And my fellow Mexican citizens are nice as well. However paying conditions here are poor even for people that have a bachelor’s degree (not engineering or science related). But I'm planning on doing a master's degree in teaching or public health administration so I can get a better salary. I could do it here or maybe in Canada or some other country. Heck maybe even back in the USA if I can get a waiver and an F1. I'm planning on starting on summer 2012 as I have some personal family matters I want to do first. But to round it all up, so far so good! Saludos from Mexico!! |

You should see this ad I found which actually pays extremely well for Mexico. http://www.esljobs.com/mexico/tecnol...ampus-sinaloa/ My problem is my masters isn't EFL specific, just in secondary education. |

Good to know ex-dreamers are doing well. It really gives dreamers support to think "Hell if this doesnt work out in the next few years, it aint so bad back home"
Being from India, I think the job market is better than the US but unfortunately, the quality of life is not. |
