Job help! Seeking assistance please
 

Good evening everyone,

A little back story, I've been interning at a small financial firm for about half a year and they will probably be offering me a full time position soon (just graduated!!).

Since i'm a dreamer I am probably going to tell them my situation (they aren't aware of it right now) and hope they are fine with it. Next step would be to ask them if they could hire me as an independent contractor.

This is where I need some help, does anyone here have any personal experience working as a contractor, what documents are required?

As of now I am under the impression that first I get an ITIN (anyone know how long the process takes?), then apply for an EIN (same question anyone knows the process length?), and finally I will ask to fill out a W9 form instead of I9.

Does that seem about right or am off? Any help and answers to my questions is greatly appreciated!
