Yesterday I went to Savemart to buy some beer and they would accept my passport as ID
 

Its not the first time I bought beer from there, but yesterday there was a cashier I hadnt seen before, and when I showed her my passport, she straight out told me that she doesnt accept passports and she only accepts official Nevada IDs; which came as a surprise since I have bought beer using a matricula before. I told her that I was a visitor and that was the only form of ID I had and that passports are official forms of ID no matter where you go. I asked her if i could please talk to her manager but she got aggresive and she said she was the manager and that she didnt want to argue and if I didn't leave she would call the police. I left that place very pissed off; I know for a fact she isnt the manger because a manager wouldnt be working as cashier during graveyard shift. I want to put a complaint on that bitch, but Im not sure where to start. I was thinking of either calling the real manger, or the board of tourism. what do you guys think I should do??

manager or headquarters. FWIW, bitch wouldn't take my expired texas ID once (or any of my valid mexican ID's for that matter). I mean I'm so old the damn thing is expired for fuck's sake. Cousin accused her of being a racist bitch, but I understand they gotta swipe those things sometimes.

doubt it. Is this a chain store? If so, just snitch to the higher ups, they're the ones losing money over this shit. Do understand it may just be stupid policy and the 1st clerk that sold you booze was being a cool guy and not a stickler...

yeah its a chain store I guess its the same company that owns food maxx in Cali. I just called and they told me that its official store policy but that they were going to call the manager about the employees aggressiveness, and they are going to have her give me a call. fuck this I'm going to fight this.

That's Bull! How can their policy not accept passports as official IDs? This is some serious discrimination! How can a tourist not be able to purchase beer? This goes beyond a crappy food store chain policy. Passports as official ID are part of conventions made by entire world!

guys ppl from NY can't buy liquor in Boston w/their ID's. We as foreigners are not alone on this one.

ive also have bought alcohol before at a savemart with a passport with out a problem. but the thing was that this savemart was right across a university and my cousin who works there told me that the reason why they accept it was because they knew that there would be foreign students wanting to buy alcohol and the only vaild id they probably have would be a foreign passport therefore they made it was acceptable.

but did they really accept your marticula before?

by any chance does anyone know if supermarkets or if liquor stores in southern cali especially around the san fernando valley accept marticulas or passports to buy alcohol?
