Have any of the members on this fourm gone back to Mexico or whatever they were born ? Was the transition difficult ? How are you doing right now ? Any ups and downs ?

I am back in Mexico right now. I worked my ass off today, I taught in the morning, tutored for two hours, and have to make a test for tomorrow. But Semana Santa is comming up and I'll be on the beach for at least part of the next two weeks!

If you want the full story of when I left, I posted it back in August or September I believe. I went over every single step in detail and my first experiences.

Ive gone back almost 1.5 years ago. I dropped out of uni, was studying psychology and wasnt really into it because I had found a way to make money online playing poker. I am from poland so was able to legally move to the uk. I met a girl while in america who was from the uk, so i moved to be with her and now we live together and we are really happy. Money is tight and the poker didnt really work out, which is why I am starting uni again, while trying to look for work. I paid $15,000 a year(well my parents mostly paid but i did contriute) and now I am about to begin studying a degree in business studies for FREE at english uni. You also get a whole lot of benefits, like help with living expenses etc in the uk, and most european countries anyways. They help you study, as opposed to getting you in 5-6 figure debt like american universities.

Overall, I am pleased that I had left, being free and having all those opportunities that i never had in america is the best feeling in the world. You also realize that usa isnt the best country in the world to live in, which is what you are brainwashed to believe when you live there.

I know i am lucky, being able to live in a developed english speaking country, and i am thankful for the opportunities everyday.

Almost forgot, I am also learning to drive, something I couldnt do being illegal and have always wanted to so much.

If your thinking of moving out, i highly recommend it.

You think you'd be interested in returning to mexico to finish your academic studies if Mexico offered subsidized education (scholarships ), work-study opportunities, and housing with other similar Dreamer students also completing their undergrad and advanced degrees? Would there be any interested students willing to make that leap of faith to complete course of studies and land a job ?

You only have to pay like $200 a semester for school, do you REALLY need a scholarship?

I'm thinking more about a study abroad-type program. With living expenses, housing accommodations, work-studying your career area provided. A student community of Dreamers living, studying and working in Mexico to obtain their professional degrees. Hypothetical: engineering student enrolls in DREAM U. Course work at Tec in Guadalajara, works -study job with Apple or Microsoft subsidiary in the "Silicon Valley" of greater Guadalajara. Finishes course of studies and returns to US via H visa On path to secure permanent residency and citizenship. Would such an alternative be attractive to Dreamers?

But seriously, there are some damn good schools in Mexico. UNAM is one of the top ranked ones in the world, but they only let 9% in. Tec de Monterrey is one of the best engineering/technology schools out there too And they are all dirt cheap compared to the US. In some of the state schools, all you have to do is make a donation that you can afford, and promise that when you make money later on you will give a bit back as an alumni.

Eddy, how is life in Tijuana? Have you had the opportunity to travel around at all?
