This is so F'd up!
What did I do wrong, I'm not a bad person, actually I'm a very caring human being, but oh well. First being 21 fucked me over (aged out), and now being 31 is fucking me over, I'm starting to see a pattern here. I'm now a stronger person, and it does not affect me as much as it did 10 yrs ago. I must admit I felt like shit when I read the DHS memo's age 30 requirement, one year, just one year, sigh. I guess, those of us who have been waiting since 2001 are the most deserving of this (I'm not saying that you younger DREAMies are not worthy of this), those who have fought for this the longest, those who were "on call" to go to war, and were willing to do so for 6 yrs (selective service system), and those of us who took the short version of the ASVAB to join the military but were turned away for lack of "legality". I'm hoping for some alternative to be available for us, if not, I'll keep my head high and keep moving forward, good luck and congrats to everyone who qualifies for Deferred Action.

Re: This is so F'd up!
I was depressed and crying when I saw that 31+ will not be included. The original Dreamers have fighting for 12 years with this DA. They did not even add the Retroactive Clause.
Vargas is 31 and he is the biggest voice for 31+. I am hoping the DA bill will add this back. Perhaps another DHS policy? |

Just wait yo, something will happen for everyone.

Man, I feel it for you guys who are 31+
It is definitely not fair for the original DREAMers to be denied like this, we must fight for a waiver or a retroactive provision to be included. |

Re: This is so F'd up!
All this discontent should be stored up and changed for motivation to keep on pushing forward. Those of us who benefit in the upcoming months should do whatever is possible so that we can continue pushing the DREAM ACT and the reform, why? Because our families and DREAMers are still in need of this, we are not special, we just happen to be lucky to be under 30. I hope that, when we receive the work permit, we take a moment to reflect on all the work that was done by the DREAMers and use that moment to think on ways to keep working on the cause. The DREAM Act must happen!

This....I second! |
Re: This is so F'd up!
lol I've been waiting since 1986...2001 just seems like yesterday to me. I have a bad feeling that even if they do raise the age limit, it would be something like 35 and I'll be fucked over again.

Re: This is so F'd up!
i can't stop to think that they did it intentionally in order to push for the comprehensive immigration reform. if the most wretched of all, which is the dreamers, are all saved. the passage of comprehensive immigration reform will be even more unlikely. i saw this idea from time to time in different news articles over the past few years.
