What's going to deny a lot of people the benefit is the following. If you have a DUI or Driving without a license record this should be your biggest concern and why you should get a lawyer. If you have no record you should be just fine!

Must not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety.

From the document:

Please note that DHS has stated that immigration-related misdemeanors, such asunlawful entry or driving without a license or suspended license, will not disqualifysomeone from the program. In any case, it is highly recommended that individuals witha criminal record consult with an AILA attorney before applying.

I know this info is mostly repeated but it answered my questions regarding what we can do if we get a work permit so I thought I should share

I sat in on all of the conference calls and not a single time was that asked, which is funny since most of us are out here driving without a license.

They did specifically identify DUIs, drug offenses, human trafficking (yeah...I know) and violent offenses as significant enough misdemeanors to bar an potential beneficiary from the process.

I honestly wouldn't be so quick to go by what the document says considering there were still a lot of unanswered questions on the calls.I'm basing the information on someone I know who got Deferred action through Prosecutorial Discretion. The person's paperwork was approved by ICE and the agent in question did mention Driving without a license is an issue.

Perhaps it might be different under the program who can say,but just saying what I know concerning Deferred action.

Although old,I think this further cement what I'm saying despite being from last year.

I'm hoping that DWL is not something that would make a person ineligible, but I can't really say the same for DUIs

Yes, DWL will disqualify a lot of us.
