An ex-coworker is threatening to call ice

I have been working at this place for 2 yrs, I'm really worried they will show up at my job. Supposedly he sent messages to co-workers warning them that he called ice and that they would show up any minute. This guy is Spaniard he's here on a visitor visa and was working, got fired. I qualify for deferred action should i go back to work ?

Is he calling ICE on himself? Or on you? I'm confused.

You should be safe because even if ICE "caught" you, you can't be deported since you qualify under DACA. You would just be released and might even get your paperwork faster.

Just to be safe, I'd research about the experiences those who were caught in the detention centers (in terms of how they were released) and have phone numbers handy in case. But that seems kinda extreme.

Keep these numbers handy.

What should I do if I meet the guidelines of this process and have been issued an ICE detainer following an arrest by a state or local law enforcement officer?
If you meet the guidelines and have been served a detainer, you should immediately contact either the Law Enforcement Support Center’s hotline at 1-855-448-6903 (staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or the ICE Office of the Public Advocate either through the Office’s hotline at 1-888-351-4024 (staffed 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday) or by email at EROPublicAdvocate@ice.dhs.gov.

Man he sounds like a douche bag. How did he find out about you??? At most, the company/job might get into trouble but you should be safe.

I personally would continue to work because you are protected. Save that phone number and keep that information on you. Go to work and continue adding to your resume unless your boss believes it might be a liability for the company.

Well hes mad he got fired. hes not calling ice about me. Hes calling to report the company and 75% of the workers don't have papers. My boss said no don't worry i don't think he called. Well he has nothing to worry about he is a citizen lol.

Ouch. Ok, if your boss tells you not to worry, don't. I would go to work and keep that information on me at all times if something were to go down.

Good luck!

Tell him to go fuck himself. And tell him that you would make the call yourself (only if it wont effect others, if it does than dont). I say don't worry. I wish somebody would tell me that.

Wow that really sucks. Something similar happened at my mom's work, and she had to give her two-weeks notice. At least ICE officials never showed up, her job just told her if she couldn't provide proper documentation that she had to go.
