I-765WS, off the book income?

Hi Guys,

If you work off the book, and there are no proof/tax returns/check stubs, and make about $20k, would you put $20k as your income and say you are working off the book? Or would you make up some number since they have no proof?

Thanks for making this forum such a helpful tool and a great support system!

I would put down 20k as income. Don't lie especially if you have bank statements that show otherwise and are submitting them. Working off the books is standard for people like us.

I would just make sure the amount of bills you have is a bit higher than your income.

I put I help my uncle in his business, and That I only make $10,800 a year. basically is off the books, I have no pay stubs and no income tax returns. If they ask for proof, i'll ask my uncle to write me a letter saying i work for him and a copy of his business license.

We don't really need to prove anything, it does say its not necessary to send supporting docs your word is good enough.

I also wrote a reason for necessity, help my family, school, driving to work and school, etc. Thought I was gunna be the only one lol

Interesting twist. I'm rethinking sending my tax returns because another thing I'm sending is also my PRIVATE college transcripts. They might start questioning how the feck I managed to pay for that.

With scholarships. I graduated from a really good school and aint no way in the world could I afford it if it wasn't for my scholarship money.

I'm pretty sure they are going to look at my transcripts and go "YEP! She's a keeper" haha :-)
