Weird question...
 

So I was thinking about something the other day...my mom told me that when she worked at some office 12 years ago, she met this guy through one of her friends. This dude was an Italian guy who owned an Italian restaurant near Chicago, and apparently he was engaged in "illegal activities" and was loaded with money, something everybody knew but never mentioned in front of him. My mom was talking to him one day at a barbeque they were having, and he knew my mom was doing immigration paperwork at the time to bring me and my sister to the U.S. from Mexico (since she left us in Mexico). So that day, he told her that if she needed any "help", he was friends with a couple of Chicago cops (apparently a very corrupt police force), and that he played polo with and was friends with some immigration lawyers and judges, some of the best in the country, and he could help her with our immigration case. She sort of ignored that.

My question is this: would it be possible to bribe people or "manage" your way to a green card if you know certain individuals of influence?

It happens. You just need an officer willing to support your case by initiating removal proceedings on you, waiving your deportation by invoking some bullshit reason like economic hardship or having dependents, having officers check up on you for a year or two to find out if you are not a fuck up, and finally followed by getting a green card.
