I'm applying for employment with the NYC Dept of Education online, and I don't see any options for work authorization that is related to the type of work authorization that we will be receiving here from DACA. What should we do? Has anyone thought about how they can apply online for jobs with this work permit yet?

dont you think its too soon to be applying for jobs assuming we will have DACA?

I was just trying it out and seeing what information they will require on the applications... I didn't complete it or submit yet. And I'm pretty sure we can't just select the other ones b/c they do background checks for applicants.

If there is an Other field, choose that. Otherwise, choose green card. Choosing H1B would most likely disqualify you since most employers out there won't bother hiring someone that requires sponsorship.

Don't worry, this app is just a preliminary screening process. You will get to fill out another when you go in for interview or actually get hired.

There is no other field. The tip about H1B is very helpful. I didn't know that you fill out two applications for employment...
