Just talked to USCIS rep...

So i just got off the phone with a USCIS rep in regards to ID for biometrics and she said that you can take your expired passport/ID up there along with a current non govt issued ID, such as a student ID and your BC and they will accept it. Now i asked about whether or not they will accept only non govt issued ID and BC and she said she wasn't sure that you should go up to the place you're getting your bio done a day before and ask them and see. You may have to provide multiple non govt issued ID and BC if you go this route but again she said she wasn't sure because they weren't given any guidelines yet for ID requirements for bio for deffered action cases.

hope i helped someone, cause i only have an expired passport but my sisters don't have any at all. And its extremely hard for them to get one.

Ahhh ok. Good attempt. I say, from now on, people should just call their respective biometric service centers once they have received their biometric's appointment letters. It'll be a shame to show up and get sent home on the day of one's appointment. I'm guessing, closer to mid-september, USCIS might probably give a heads up to the majority of service centers to warn them about the DACA applicants coming in for pictures/fingerprints.

I'm in the same boat too... expired passport, but I have a college ID + other IDs (non-gov't) available to bring with me if I must.

So glad to hear they will take expired passports. When I get my biometrics appointment I will call my biometrics center to make sure they will accept expired IDs. Thanks so much!

Just a thought...
You should be able to renew your passport at your country's consulate for your area.

As mentioned countless of times before. Some countries do not alow issuance or renewal of Passport's because of certain requirements, ie. military service, lawful status etc.

OP good research for those in that situation

Welcome.

Not everyone is Mexican, I can't just go"renew my passport". Trust me I would have done so a couple years ago.

If you have expired passports you can use that. I already knew you could fRom i-485 cases and experiences be researched. Just wanted it to be legit so I called for people out there who can't renew.

Have about a passport that is 17 years expired from when I was 10 and I'm 27 now. I made an appointment to get my passport renew but it won't be until Oct. 18. I'm afraid I might get my biometrics appointment set for a date before I can renew my passport.

Mine expired at the same age and I got an appointment to get renewed on the same day. It sucks, I heard you can keep calling to see if they have any cancellations, I doubt there will be any though. I'm going to try before school starts, good luck.

Why didn't you schedule back in June?

You can use expired stuff but if you wanna be prepared then you gotta take the initiative and make appointments like these much more in advance.
