PROCESSING TIMELINE for DACA

Processing Time for DACA
AUGUST 28, 2012 SINAE 1 COMMENT
A lot of people wonder “did anyone got a notification?”. I ask that very same question to many of this blog and forum visitors to see where everyone else’s form process is at. It seems like, to me, people who filed on the Aug. 15th with G-1145 firm got notified on application submission by e-mail with a case tracking number for I-765.

There is NO SPECIFIED PROCESSING TIME for I-821D. What we know is the order of the process.

Once you mail your application along with other required form, the USCIS will notify you on the application submition that tells you the form has been recieved from the lock box and it is now going to be mailed out to one of the USCIS service center for case review to be started. After the USCIS finish checking through you application, there will be a notification to go ahead and schedule an appointment for a biometric. When your biometric passes, the I-821D application process starts. We do not know how long I-821D review takes. But when your I-821d is finished and the USICS decided to grant you a deferred action, I-765 gets started. It takes about 90 days for I-765 to be processed but you can call USCIS to check what’s happening with your I-765 if the 90 days period passed with no notification.

It is now a waiting time for us who filed the application. Nothing will happen in a short period of time. Let’s be very patient and hopefully everyone’s application process goes well to get deferred action granted. After all, we’ve been waiting all these years, so we can deal with a few months of waiting!

so basically the i-821D processing won't start until your biometrics results. Then after your approved of I-821D you have to wait another 90 days for EAD.

(in takes about 2 weeks for the biometrics results to come out)

by the way--this is another dreamact organization's opinion on the timeline. Although noone is really for sure about the timeline, its details on the process makes sense.

Thanks for posting this.

I had been wondering about the process order. This cleared up my questions a good deal.

This is the reason why Jerry Brown needs to sign that CA DL bill so EAD might not even be necessary for us to obtain a DL

Gov. Jerry Brown doesnt need to sign it as long as he doesnt veto it. The bill becomes law after 30 days with or without the Governor's signature.

BTW, i dont think with the Approval for I-821D is enough for a DL. im not quite sure but from the looks of it, it may be just that. We have to wait for the EADs.

^ I still believe it will be much quicker than 90 days for us to get EAD once I-821D is approved. I just don't see what would hold it up that long, since at this point we already passed the Biometrics part.

Yeah youre right. Since biometrics only takes up 2 weeks tops to get the results.
Im guessing that it will take about a few weeks to be approved for I-821D.

I think once you're approved for deferred action , you're approved for EAD. This is not a regular case. Haven't you read stories of people who were in proceedings already having their licenses and such?

It should be enough since I-821D is really what matters

EAD is just a bonus if you look at it that way.
