so what do i put on the application? or how would they know?

Put the truth and don't hide anything. If you hide something it may come back to haunt you when a possible Adjustment of Status become available. It's only my 2 cents...

I read people here advising others to put zero for income. but to include all of their bank statements. lol Will be interesting to see people being rejected because they put down zero as income while their bank statments show money going in and out

Put '0' for income if you've no income. No statement or bills to attach.

If you have income, write the income amount. Include bank statements and bills. They already know people work illegally. Should you feel the need, you can explain why you've been working in the space provided.

I have zero income for this year so far. I'm in school full time and really don't have the time for a job. But I did send my bank statements since I have very little money in my account. I also mentioned my income from last year and explained my cost of living. My parents pay for most of my stuff, so I don't have a lot of money except for what I saved and what was given to me.
