If I get EAD....

Sorry for people who think this new thread is unnecessary, but I have some serious trouble..
Luckily, my parents and I worked together to pay off college tuition with minimum
scholarship and I'm into Junior year. I'm currently taking a semester off so I can save
some money for next semester.
I pursue on pharmacy school, so I have to apply for pharmacy school for next year.
However, even if I get accepted, if I can't get a loan for expensive
tuition, there is no way I can even attend school, which will be around ($27,000~35,000) a year. I heard having EAD doesn't authorize u to apply for federal
aid or grant. My parents have no credit history and I will just be totally depended on
myself. Is there anyway that non-permanent resident can receive some kind of college loan? Thanks for your helpful reply in advance.

From experience I can tell you that you can look for schools that offer aid to students regardless of their immigration status. Apply for some of their scholarships. Also, some states offer aid to undocumented students (your's might).
I've read on this forum that some banks do offer student loans to undocumented students as long as you can provide a cosigner who is an American citizen.
Good luck in your search!

Thanks for quick reply! Unfortunately, I didn't maintain outstanding GPA to apply for scholarship and I don't think I have anybody who can be a cosigner.. I was wondering that if I get EAD and get a credit card, stack up some credit for a year (Since we have some spending from my parents), then I can apply graduate school loan for myself or not.

Re: If I get EAD....

who doesn't want to go to pharmacy/medical school and make $100k+ per year?

hell, I want to join Goldman Sachs and get 1 mil salary.

but you see, different people live in different circumstances and that's why people make decisions that fits their standard.

do you have perfect GPA and perfect test score + amazing EC and pharmacy schools are willing to give u a free ride?

if not, then go for something where u belong, meaning you get a work permit and u have no money for pharmacy schools so make the best out of it (whatever it might be)..

people in Congo can't go to pharmacy schools. is there any to help them out?

people in rural Russia can't go to pharmacy schools. is there any to help them out?

people in rural China can't go to pharmacy schools. is there any to help them out?

people in rural Hungary can't go to pharmacy schools. is there any to help them out?

people in rural Greece can't go to pharmacy schools. is there any to help them out?

hes a troll

even if your GPA isn't perfect you can still apply
and GPA is not the only thing they look at

also try to find somebody who can co-sign for you

thats what i did and luckily i found one from church i attend
and i did receive scholarships, not from the school but from several private scholarship foundations which helped alot

you can't just come up with 35,000 x 4 = 140k (including living expense, transportation fees + meals) by staying positive.

i would rather have ppl call me troll and give u a realistic, down to earth advice than for you to hear another sugar-coated "everything's gonna be alright" therapist talk when in reality what you get is a shitty $25000 job after college..

if you're ok with living with your parents for the next 6 years and just work breath and save $140k, i guess that works..

Wth? Being accepted to professional school is certainly doable. You make it sound impossible. If you are disciplined enough you should be able to get in.

The only problem is that a lot of professional schools allow only a couple (literally) of non-residents into their programs. And funding? Well most take out loans so you will likely need to do the same.

Its very tough for us unfortunately. You can give it a shot, but keep those odds in mind.

I agree. But in his case, there might be a way for him to go to pharmacy school
