Biometric's Walk-In, Failed.

Hey guys, I walked in this afternoon, wasn't good.

Walk in Location: Orlando, FL

They couldn't do my bios because they said the forms of identifications I brought were not sufficient. I took my Expired Passport (1996) and my birth certificate. The guard lady also asked If I had a school ID , so I gave that to her as well.
The guard lady told me an Officer needs to review the documents and told me to sit next to his office. I over heard the officer talking with someone on the phone saying "Yeah, I knew theses documents we'rent enough proof." "The Passport Expired in 1996, he said in an arrogant tone." By that point, I knew I wasn't going to be able to do the Bio's.

I can't renew my passport because I don't have a Venezuelan ID, I've tried so many times and always get denied for the same reason. The Venezuelan Consulate have told me to go to Venezuela and apply for an ID, then I will be granted a Passport- I can't leave or else I'll be banned for 10 years for overstaying my visa!
When I came to the USA, I was only 5 years old, they don't issue ID's to 5 year old's- not in Venezuela. My parents had there foreign ID's so they have been able to renew their passports without a problem.

The officer then calls me in, and asked me if these were the only forms of Identification I had. I said no, I also have my Social Security Card, and I-94.
I handed them over and he said he didn't want to see them- said they were pointless. He asked how I came into the country, I answered through the Miami International, and also offered to show him the plane tickets. He didn't want too see them. He asked for a translated version of the birth certificate, thankfully I had one and even notarized on August 2012.
He then said, "I can't approve these documents therefore today you will not have your biometrics taken; give me your number and I'll contact you with anything.
Gave him my cell, and said okay you can leave now.
I said, thank you for your time sir.

I left so freaking mad & depressed!
I Immediatley called USCIS and talked to them about it. I wondered- how come so many on the forum mentioned they had expired passports and were able to do there bios? I'm guessing because they were in a big immigrant population like LA.
After a long wait time I was finally able to talk to someone. The lady basically said, there are several cases like mine- and It was brought up in a conference they had this morning but there's nothing they could do about it.
She told me "Unfortunately you must at least have a current passport."
So I asked what do you suggest? - She said "there's really nothing I can suggest other than to call us back every now and then to see if anything can be done."
So I replied: "Does this mean I don't qualify?
Lady Replies: No, it's just that you don't have the right Identification.

After I got off the phone, I noticed an office that read "Immigration Lawyer," I thought I don't care how much I have to pay, as long as this gets fixed!
I walked in, the lawyer was right there- so I explained everything and he was like you see this is why I suggest everyone to always consult a lawyer, bla. bla. bla.
Everything was fine until now. He told me to try to talk to the Venezuelan Consulate in Miami about it, but president Hugo Chavez closed it down! So he told me to contact the nearest one- New Orleans, or the Embassy in DC.

Sooo.. I then called the Consulate in New Orleans and they told me I could get my passport on the same day with my expired Passport and Birth Certificate. And then she mentioned that If I could find the ID formula it would help. I told her how do I get this "ID Formula," she said: when ever you go to Venezuela just stop by "some office- forgot the name" and they'll give it to you!

So I'm calling again tomorrow to ask for more info on this.
I'll most likely have to go to New Orleans. If I must go to DC I'll go. This is a once in a life time opportunity.

I only have until the 28th which is my actual Bio appointment.
That's 6 business days to come up with something, otherwise I'll have to reschedule the bios.
Thank God I decided to do a walk-in at least I have a few days to figure something out.

Update: Biometric's Walk-In, Successful! :)

I went to the the Hialeah ASC in Miami.
Everything went great, the people were very nice & understanding.
Completely different experience from the ASC in Orlando.

Thanks to everyone for their input & advice!

Re: Biometric's Walk-In, Failed.

Aw im so sorry to hear that! I'll have to do my bios in that office as well cause I live close to Orlando area.
When I went to the Israeli Embassy in Miami, they renewed mt passport on the spot, I don't understand why they won't renew it for you. This sucks.. But like you said, you gotta do everything in your powers to make this happen. And if you need to fly to a different state to get your ID and renews your passport, then do so.
By the way, it will take time for them to renew your passport so I think anyways you will have to reschedule your biometrics appointment.
Best of luck my dear! Keep us updated!

Damn that sucks man, I have a Venezuelan friend who came to the U.S at 2 years old and he got his Biometrics taken at the Hialeah ASC, he took his passport(expired) which shows his baby picture and school I.D and they didn't give him any trouble. You should take the trip down here and take it here, a lot of hispanics working at the Hialeah ASC, really friendly also.

P.S my passport is also expired and i'm 3 years old in the picture.

Damn that guy's an ass. Is there any other ASC nearby where you live? If so go to that one, most places accept expired passports

He doesn't really have to reschedule his appointment trust me you want to be on top of the ball on this opportunity, i have read of dreamers here who went to a different ASC and had their Biometrics taken when other ASC gave them trouble. Honestly i would HIGHLY suggest you take a trip down here to Miami and do it,afterwards you can worry about fixing your passport issue and take as much time as you want while knowing that your process is rolling.

Damn!!!!!! Passport from 1996? 16 years ago, so you would've been at most 14 years old, that picture wouldn't be up to date at all.

Does Venezuela offer anything like the Mexican Matricula? Cheaper option that works for biometrics and pretty much anything else.

Really? That's awesome man! This really gives me hope- I had no idea!
So, it doesn't matter if the address on the Bio's letter is for Orlando?
The letter says "Please Appear At The Below Application Support Center At The Date And Time Specified:"

Application Support Center
USCIS Orlando
6200 Lee Vista Blvd.
Suite 600
Orlando, FL 32822

USCIS Application Support Center

5880 NW 183rd Street

Hialeah, Florida 33015.

I can't tell you about the other ASCs because i have no experience with the other ASCs.
Like i said before alot of people here have gone to a different ASC then stated on their Biometrics letter and have had success.
