Ethnicity & Race question

For the SSA application, question 6 asks "Are you Hispanic/Latino (yes or no)?"
and question 7 asks "Race select One or More: -Native Hawaiian -Alaska Native - Asian -American Indian
-Black/African American -Other Pacific Islander -White"

I'm Mexican (brown skinned). I know I should put Yes for question 6, but for question 7? I'm neither of those.

What are y'all selecting if you are a Hispanic/Latino brown skinned.

I'm almost positive you would select White. For certain purposes, Hispanics/Latinos are classified under White for a variety of documents. Even in law enforcement here, they call out their ethnicity as being White and not Hispanic/Latino when they have stopped someone and are running a check on them.

If you are brown skinned and are mexican you are most likely American Indian. If you feel uncomfortable checking as that you can always put other.

the "other" option is not even included, they include "other pacific islander"

I guess closest would be American Indian (which I thought they were referred to Native Americans from the USA since when do they considers Americans from North/South Americans in this country?)
