Job Search/Applications/Interviews

Has anyone been filing out applications, job searching? You know just in case to have things lined up with possible interviews after EAD has arrived and DACA app is approved?

The interview questions are different pertaining to what job you've applied for. However, you can expect questions like "what are your strengths/weaknesses," or "why do you want to work here," or "what value can you bring to this company," etc.

Yes, I applied to one near my house. The only problem I have is availability because of my classes. I really thought the process would take six months so I really should have put more thought into it.

However, starting January things should look good.

Get something related with what you want to do.

For example, if you are a H.S and want to study business, try to get a job as a teller or administrative assistant or somewhere at a business were you would like to work.

When I was 18 I was making 32k, now I am 24 and I am making nowhere close to it due to e-verify. But the expirience I got at 18 was valuable. I worked in a professional environment and that is something to put on your resume.

Trust me young folks out there, don't settle for a job at best buy, or the GAP. Try and keep on trying to make your way into a professional organization were you can take useful knowledge with you for your professional careers.

Trust me you want to be the guy in your class that goes with work clothes and has an edge over everyone else.

We can do it know, Leeeeeeeeeee go!

I agree. I mean I have a job right now but I can't stay there much longer. Too much tension and so on. I've been there for almost 4 years. Ive got a degree in Human Service and pursing my Bachelor's in Social Work, I've had internship experience but sometimes you gotta take what you can get and I have friends who's jobs are willing to hire me but this wait to get approved does not help.

I have an in-house interview for an internship tomorrow morning!
I'm kind of anxious because I don't have my SSN yet, and I'd love to have it in my hands before I hear the decision on my internship.

This is exactly what I want to do! What brings me down a bit is I don't own a car but I guess that if I am hired at a bank or let's say an office then I will find myself using public transportation until I can purchase my own car. I was thinking of working someowhere really close to home like retail for a couple of months until I can purchase a car but idk if that's such a good idea. I have some volunteer experience and hope to be able to find a good place to work.
