My SSN arrived! Looks like SSA process fast
 

I went to the Wilshire SSA twice before my final visit but got rejected due to the lack of my birth certificate or a VALID passport from home country. So I got my BC on 24th and went to the Wilshire SSA again and finally applied for my SSN.

My SSN card arrived today, which took 5 days after I actually applied, and
it looks like SSA is processing really fast as long as you have your EAD and BC or VP ready when you apply.

I'm heading to DMV right now to apply for my state ID. Since I don't have a car or can afford one any time soon, I decided to go for the state ID for now so I can open a bank account as soon as possible and also apply for a job and go back to college.

By the way, how long would a state id take compared to the entire driver license preparation, the tests and DL card progressing?

ID's are a short process, a DL only takes longer because of the Test, Behind the Wheel scheduling, and actually passing the Drive Test before they can even issue a DL.

But should take a little over a week for the ID to be mailed.

I keep my ID/EAD/SSN at home and only use my DL.

Awesome! I applied for my SSN on the 19th, and havent received it as of yet :/ I hope this week I get it.

I thought ids were given out on the spot? I got my ssn on Saturday I also I applied on 19th

They have to verify documents and also make the card with all their fancy security features.
