I was wondering how your process is going. I already someone from Las Vegas that is on this forum has been approved. Anxiety has taken over me, and I felt like I needed to make a thread for our state!

What are your guys' timelines? :)

Hello again, dean. I have finished with the DACA process. I should expect to receive my Nevada Drivers License (plastic card) in the mail within this week. I am glad someone created this thread. We do have a few members from Nevada. Nevadan's are Battle Born. 8-)

The Badura Ave center does not allow walk-ins. I know first hand.

Yes, I got a no for when I attempted to do a walk-in before my scheduled biometrics date, as well. I went to the one one Badura Ave. That's the one in Las Vegas.

I'm glad to hear you almost have your official DL! How's it feel to be driving around? lol

Yeah, the guards at that service center are by the book. Its best just to wait it out and save gas.

It still hasn't hit me yet. My "new-found" freedom. ;) It all happened so fast. I received my EAD on the 20th of October and I succeed in getting a license 9 days later. The DMV (Sahara) has been very good to me. I hope they are good to you Dreamers as well.

I have already applied at many companies and have received two call backs so far!

TIPS: If you can, go to the Social Security Office on Buffalo. They process paperwork pretty quickly. I received my social security number card four days after applying.

Print out DMV application online and fill it out before you get there. It saves time. The DMVs are very crowded.

Get an ID or Permit first (you need only an EAD). You get a permit by taking the written test. Pass, and you will be issued an interim permit (paper document). The actual plastic permit will be mailed to you within 2 weeks. If you are issued an interim permit (paper doc) you can schedule a drivers test online. By the time you're ready to take the drivers test, you must have a social security number. Pass, and you're issued an interim license. The actual plastic license will be mailed to you within 2 weeks.

I have had several people tell me the Sahara DMV is very strict (who knew?). The Decatur DMV is very lenient and accommodating. I have heard that the actual drivers test at the Decatur DMV is like taking candy from a baby. Easy peasy.

But you said that for the interim permit, you don't need your social security? Do the DMV staff not ask you at all why you don't have your social security number?

For an ID & Permit: You do not need your social security card just yet.

They will ask you of course, but just say you are in the process of applying or have applied already.

For a Drivers License: You must have the card by the time you're ready to take and pass the test. :-D

I sent my app on the sept 20, and got my biometrics test taken october 20.
By the looks of it I should be getting my approval by the end of this month or early next month.
