Got Ead, got Ssn now what?
 

I got all my documents except for my driving permit which I'm planning on getting it soon. Now that I have the SSN I want to get a credit card and start building some history. I have a bank account which I opened with my tax id number. Should I give them my social now? Also some people are saying we should cancel the tax id number. Has anyone done that yet. I just want to hear about people's experiences so far. For me my life is going to start now. I'm looking for a new job I currently work as a nanny. Thanks

You should ask your bank to update your info. It is illegal to be using your ITIN once you have been issues a SS number.

I called my tax preparer today an I let him know that I will be receiving my SSN.. He told me that as soon as I get it he can start working on my previous tax returns and that I will be getting money back that I wasn't able to received with ITIN ... I asked him if I need to notify the IRS about my change he said it wasn't necessary because when he files for the amenities(money I couldn't receive with ITIN) the IRS will know immediately about the change and automatically will transfers all my info to my SSN

I'm thinking u need an ID to apply for jobs
