Do I need physical EAD to apply for SSN?
 

So I have already received my approval letters in the mail, but not my EAD. Do I need the physical EAD when I go apply for my SSN, or should the letters be enough to apply?

I'm thinking about doing it first thing Tuesday.

Yes. EAD card and original birth certificate. Go to the ss website brah

No you dont need anything just go to the office and walk in and a s.s # will be given to you right then and there. Even though the letters say something like "THESE LETTERS ARE NOT PROOF OF ANY LEGAL BENEFIT BLAH BLAH BLAH DO NOT USE THEM AS A WAY TO PROVE ANY STATUS"

I believe you do need the actual EAD card , and your valid passport or birth certificate. Most likely they will turn you away with just the approval letter.

Ok I'll still give it a shot only with my approval letters just to see what happens. I'll let you guys know. :)

Yes. They take a look at your work permit card very carefully.

Wait for your EAD card, you cannot apply for your SSN without it....
