Do I need to get a new s.s?
 

any one know whether or not with the new work permit I will have to get a new social security number? I have an old one from when I was little but it says "not valid for employment." Will I have to get a new number or will it automatically be transferred as one I can work with now? I'm asking because I have a job offer in front of me and don't know which s.s to put. I'm on my 53 day of waiting for my EAD approval so I havent got it yet but expect it soon.

You will keep the same number, but you need to go to the SSA to update it in the system that you can now use it for employment and they will also send you a new card.
