Using EAD as proof of ID

I live in Arizona where we are currently not able to get a state license or ID if we have been approved for DACA. Does anyone know if the EAD can be used as a valid form of ID, primarily to show proof of age to either purchase tobacco products or alcohol? Or to gain admittance into certain establishments, like a casino or a bar or perhaps at a airport to get on a flight. I do have my Mexican passport and that seems to work but it gets a little difficult to carry around everywhere. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Haha, thanks. I guess that's the simplest answer I could get.

If they say WTF, just say "Well, your state is funded by the federal. So respect this federal-issue card."

I would think an EAD would be a superior form of ID since it is issued by an agency of the Federal Government, but you never know, some people will ask you for a state-issued ID no matter what.

It depends. IIRC in Texas, the TABC (alcohol/tobacco guys) only requires establishments to accept Texas ids -- everything else is up to the decision of the bouncer -- if he can't tell your out of state ID is legit, he can deny you.

What if the ead has a Texas address on it?

I doubt that is true. Every state that I know of is required to accept documentation from DHS or USCIS aka any U.S. government issued document. Obviously said document must have some photo for it to be accepted as an ID which the EAD has.

From their website:

Texas state law does not require that a person over 21 provide any identification to purchase alcohol in Texas. There is nothing in the law that declares specific forms of ID as “valid” for an alcohol purchase.

A store, bar or restaurant might or might not sell alcohol to a person with an expired driver's license, a foreign passport or other ID. What's acceptable in any establishment is a matter of that establishment's private business policies.

Apparently I was just quoting the policy of some bars, not the official line.

Lol remember, you had to go through an FBI background check for that card lol it's definitely superior over a DL but you're gonna have those idiots who are gonna be like huh? What's this? And do a double take on it.. But without question it is definitely a credible source of ID
