Anyone planning on going to med school?
If so, what are your plans to pay for it? (that is, if you were accepted).

Re: Anyone planning on going to med school?
Don't you need a permanent resident status to finish that

Re: Anyone planning on going to med school?
Original plan but its going to take too long. First of all, many schools advise you not to apply if youre a true international. Canadians get a little exception. Even LPR's are asked about citizenship (have heard cases) during the interview. Its not impossible, but its improbable that you would get an interview and they would end up accepting you. On top of all of that, you would need to get licensed and having a temporary status might affect all of this. Imagine dishing out 200k+ for going to school and finding out that you cant be properly licensed.
I would suggest you guys to find some alternatives for the time being until CIR or a real path to LPR materializes. |

yeah dont waste your money to study something you can't legally do.

Re: Anyone planning on going to med school?
it can be done, but there are too many unknowns. i know a guy that got into the university of indiana as an international student, and he's graduating next may i think. the road has been way to long and way to bumpy for him and he advices NOT to even apply unless you're already a LPR or USC.
as mdxod said, just find something productive to do for now. med school is stressful enough there's no point in adding extra stress to the process. |
Re: Anyone planning on going to med school?
Yeah a lot of things can be done if you're a LPR we all kind of know that

Re: Anyone planning on going to med school?
technically i am in med school.....
its really a technicality since my grad school program (deaf education) is considered part of the otolaryngology department. i was also very lucky that they paid for everything even after i told my professors that i was here illegally. good luck to those of you that want to apply! |
