Traveling to Puerto Rico
So I just booked a trip to Puerto Rico with a layover in Orlando, FL. Has anyone has any experience traveling off the mainland to one of the territories? I have my EAD but I'm just being slightly paranoid. Should I take my EAD? A passport? Or really only my DL?

I want to know the answer to this too. I wouldn't even think about flying to puerto rico, but let's hear if anyone has done this?

Re: Traveling to Puerto Rico
Of all US territories I think only Puerto Rico is reasonably safe to travel to and return if you're approved.CBP checks your status sometimes on flights headed for the mainland US when leaving PR just before you get on your flight.Your EAD and DL or ID should be enough!

Re: Traveling to Puerto Rico
DL only should be enough https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/det...o%20rico/sno/1

I mean, I flew to Nashville (of all of places) recently and it was fine. I'm just being a little more paranoid since I'm leaving the mainland. |
Re: Traveling to Puerto Rico
Yeah i know what you mean. But let us know. It should be fine, i mean dreamers in PR are eligible for DACA too. So i dont see why there should be a problem if we go there, although i heard that border patrol sometimes check the passengers at the airport. Are you flying into San Juan?

Re: Traveling to Puerto Rico
wait
Will travelers from U.S. territories need to present a passport to enter the United States? U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR's) who travel directly between parts of the United States, which includes Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), without touching at a foreign port or place, are not required to present a valid U.S. Passport or U.S. Green Card. However, it is recommended that travelers bring a government issued photo ID and copy of birth certificate. Foreign one right lol ? |
