I know there are other threads but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Has anyone obtained a Driver's Permit or License without showing their EAD card as proof of identity?????? If so did they still put TEMPORY VISITOR on your License???

Your EAD is not for proof of identity but to prove your lawful status! Guys stop thinking your SSN grants you legal or lawful status. Most states have a category for proving lawful/legal status and thats where your EAD is for. It can be used for proof of identity but its mostly for proving lawful presence.

In Illinois, EAD serves as proof of identity (foreign passport WITHOUT valid visa not accepted).

EAD nor SSN nor DACA grants you any lawful status. We are still unlawful, but granted deferred action. Meaning, we are put on hold and given permission to work for the 2 years.

That makes sense, now I understand. I thought you could have used the Passport as proof. I understand now though.

WTH are you talking about???..your EAD can be used for ID purposes... but it DOES NOT prove your lawful status... we are still illegal!!

What really for the point system your EAD can be used twice? Is what I meant here

okay so I am getting lost here

I am hearing one side saying EAD grants us lawful status and now another side saying it does not?

Any source for this?

didn't have to show it since I already had my state id, maybe you do if you don't have that already

What state are you from? and does it have TEMP on it?
