After Christmas Biometrics. Help
 

I had an appointment with USCIS to take my biometrics on the 24th of December. I went and wasnt able to walk in as they were closed. I decided to go the day after Christmas and successfully finished up taking my biometrics. However, yesterday I received a letter that says im scheduled to go in on Jan 17. I'm wondering if maybe they didnt apply my biometrics to my case successfully? The USCIS website and phone support is still marked with "we received your application on - - -" So theres no real update in terms of biometrics. Its worth mentioning that on the 26th (Same day I took my biometrics) my sister called in and rescheduled her appointment. Do you guys think that they rescheduled me as well by mistake? Perhaps, they rescheduled me as a remedy to the closed USCIS office on the 24th? Anyhow my concern is that I'm not sure if I should go again. Anyone ever go through this?

do you have the bio letter? it should be stamped.

if you do then maybe you can call them and tell them that you have a stamped letter from your bios. maybe send them a copy?

It's normal. USCIS expected many of the SC closed on 24th. So they resend the letter to everyone who were supposed to do it that day.
After Sandy I got the same email in NY cuz of Sandy. I did mine and I checked with USCIS so I ignored the letter.

If you are still concern, just call USCIS. They can confirm.

I did call USCIS and they gave me the same info that the website does. I also mentioned that my bio letter was stamped, but they wouldnt provide any information. I guess my biggest concern is that my biometrics didnt reach them. Since I took my biometrics on a day that I wasnt scheduled to take them.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. What you need to do it take the first notice (with the stamp) along with the second notice to the ASC office. There they will check whether they sent out the second notice by error, or if they need to re-capture your biometric info.

Call again. I told you about my story after Sandy. I called the day I got the mail and the responder told me it was taken. When you completed your biometric, it should go into the system. It has to open your file. They scanned / type in your app code / barcode. It should already be in the system.

Just call and ask them to check, the first level has the authority.
If not, just transfer to the second. But you have to wait. Call in the morning.
