Yea it's no problem! Good luck and I'm starting to think I should make an Income Tax thread since people create so many threads regarding this subject. lol

Yes, add my vote to this request. I'm looking around the forum for posts about taxes, and I see you're experienced in the field.

I'll look forward to your tax thread, msaccountant. I'm particularly curious about filing if one is paid with a 1099 Misc, and whether or not we can file for previous years now that we have a SSN (I'm reading that we can file up to 3 previous years).

I do plan on getting some tax software. I'll try out the free version that the IRS offers, first, though.

I had a question regarding this as well. I've always filed my taxes using my TIN number. I have not been approved yet and who knows when i would be. If my w2 arrives before my approval date is there an advantage using my new SS to just using the TIN? (get more money)

oh man! get ready to reach deep into your pockets if youre single with no kids,
around 15%( Not too bad but it hurts when you pay it all at once) income tax for self employed individuals plus state taxes depending on your state (none of that here in TX, thanx on thhat one repubs) any ways i use turbotax home & business it runs around $80 and its really easy to use, it takes lees than ten minutes.

Yeah, I had been getting ready for that. I do have deductions I'm hoping to use — such as paying my college tuition and related expenses last semester out of pocket — which should bring down what I owe.
