Can I get some help on the I-765 ws?
I've filled all my forms out myself, it was pretty simple and I have all the documents needed. I've graduated high school and want to enroll to my local community college once I get everything approved.
I only need this one thing finished so I can send everything in, in the I-765 ws it asks about your financial situation, income/expenses/assets as you all know but I don't have a job, nor do I have any kind of money coming in and with no money I don't really buy anything, so I really don't know what to put in there. I can easily explain the situation but I'm not sure what to put in, any help? |

If you don't work, you have 0 income.
Everyone has expenses, even if you don't work, you still have to write down your expenses like food, clothes, rent, etc... Assets are a car that you have payed off, a house, a piece of land. If you have none of that, you have 0 assets. You can write down in the Additional Information section an explanation stating that you don't currently work but that (your parents, spouse, etc.) is currently paying for your expenses. This way you can show economic necessity because you aren't making any money and your expenses are having to be paid by someone else. |
Re: Can I get some help on the I-765 ws?
Ok, the form is very simple and vague, so don't worry about being too detailed.
On income: any income you personally have (not your parents, not anyone supporting you). If you have none, it is perfectly ok Expenses: A figure you get by adding all of the things you have to pay for including but not limited to rent, food, clothing, health insurance/doctors, utilities, car expenses, etc etc. Just a hint, a typical teeanger living in at home costs about $17K per year... So your answer should be this or more. Assets: any and all assets you personally own and that are in your name, for example your car, your savings, etc. Remember, these are also personal assets, not anyone else's. If you have nothing under your name, write 0. In the section below, a simple explanation suffices: If you have no income, say you need a employment authorization document so you can work and pay for your personal expenses so you are not a burden to others, and if it's your case, mention that you want to also would like to work so you can pay for your education. It should be as simple as that, no need to give a long, emotional narrative. Remember the officials go through hundreds of these applications and anything that makes their life easier is best. Good luck and I hope I helped you. |

All i wrote was, "I would like to apply for employment authorization so I can work and be able to go back to college, and finish my degree. Also so I can have proof that I got deferred action." That's it, and i got approved last friday.

A little explanation does help, but I don't think it should be much more than 2 sentences at most. |
