Hard time getting credit card
So I recently received my social security , and I just got denied for a bank of america credit card. I figured because my social is probably new ? I've updated my school, job, IRS, bank, now will update my verizon account and selective service. All of these should be enough to build my profile with the new social but i guess might take awhile? I need to start building credit asap to apply for loans for school in the fall. I don't know what to do at this point, wait ? Any other suggestion?

Re: Hard time getting credit card
Not necessarily that your social is new.
Do you have previous credit history? That might be it. If you do, did you contact all three credit bureaus? You said you have a job, hopefully you have an income higher than your monthly debt. What to do: Apply for a secured credit card. All you need is a job, a deposit ($200-300), and use some of that every month and pay it off in full every month. |

Apply for a secured credit card. No history needed. A secured credit card has a limit based on your deposit. So if you put down $200, that's your credit limit. You will need a job, however, which you have. Keep using that card and pay it off every month in full. |
