Hey guys, I just got an email from Steve Job's widow from her "The Dream is Now" advocacy group.

"We are very excited to share with you this trailer of the film, The Dream is Now, a 30-minute documentary by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth and Waiting for Superman) that tells the stories of Dreamers and their families. The film will be launched at a screening in Washington, DC on April 10 and then will be available to the public for screenings throughout the month of April. But today, we are asking you to join the movement and help spread the word about the film by activating your social network through a platform we are using called Thunderclap.

What is Thunderclap? It's a new platform that allows people to pledge a Tweet or Facebook message that is concentrated and unleashed all at the same time. Think of it as a massive flash mob on Twitter. It's completely safe and will automatically post exactly one message on your behalf on Twitter and Facebook on April 10. The message will include a link to the trailer of the documentary and generate awareness for the campaign.

It's super easy and most importantly safe. Basically by singing up, we will be doing an internet-wide flash mob with a pre-written message from The Dream is Now all being sent from Thunderclap at the same time (on April 10th).

But if your going to support this (like I did) then do it now, we only have 5 days to reach our goal (we're at 77% as of this posting).

Actually this is news since I'm posting the date for a upcoming documentary featuring us. I just so happen to include a flash petition that will also help our cause. So this post not only belongs in the taking action forum but also in the news forum as well..

I'm not a mod so it's their call but in my opinion, this area is for news articles regarding immigration reform ie. news on how far along the laws are, any notable statements by those working on reform. Even in the "taking action" this is nothing more than slacktivitsm that will not accomplish anything other than to preach to the choir. If we have to resort to online "flash mobs", then we are doomed.

The mentioning of the documentary plus its release date seem good enough to be counted as news.I think it will have a great positive impact, reaching out to people that don't know much about our situation.
