Anyone has experience with CA DL renewal?

Does anyone have experience about renewing California Driver's License? Last time I renewed my CA DL license in person in montebello because I didn't have my ssn on file in DMV. I got lucky that time because the lady just asked me my ssn and gave me five years without asking me for any documents. It is almost time for me to renew my driver's license and I would like to know if anyone has experience with renewing driver's license online or in person and if you have five year dl before, do you get five year again or sometimes five years while sometimes less?

it all really depends on the DMV employee, you either get whatever is on your document, or you will get a 5 year license just like everybody else.

i don't get these posts without a background to them, are you DACA eligible? or received DACA?

did you get lucky and got a social back in the day and received a license when they were giving them out ?

5 years.

I renewed my DL after being expired for like 6 years. I went to renew it and provided my SSN. I got my DL for 4 years like everybody else. I know you get it for 5 years if you go and renew it on your bday.

you cant renew it online unless they send you a renewal notice by mail. there is this renewal code you need to put in.

i renewed my dl after receiving daca too. all you need to do is just bring your ssn, work authorization card and your old drivers license. if it has been more than like one or two years since your license expired, you will have to take half of the written exam. if not, they will just renew it for you without the exam.

good luck! i did mine in westminster, socal.

Did you get a five year one again? Before I got a renewal notice from the mail to renew, but I couldn't do it online because they didn't have my ssn on record. Has anyone gotten their ssn and driver license before daca and been able to renew it online instead of in person?

nope. it should be two years. it should line up with the expiration date of your dhs work authorization card. some people got lucky and got five years but you should be getting the two year one. you should just go to the nearest dmv and renew it.

What about renewing online with ssn? Has anyone tried that before or after daca?
