So I'm going to be featured on NBC's Nightly News
 

So UCLA asked me a couple days ago if I would be interested in doing a piece with NBC Nightly News on students who are transferring and receiving Cal Grants and also a part of Deferred Action. My school's PR director asked me if I would consent to doing a on camera interview for the nationwide network. I gladly agreed and also met with the Financial aid Director at my school and he was thrilled that I wanted to participate. The terms and conditions of the interview are up to me and the story should be up in a month. I'm waiting for the NBC producer to contact me and fill me in on the details.

Does anyone have experience with TV interviews or anything? Any thoughts on what I should say or any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys !

Basically be careful with certain questions and how you answer them. We had a local fox dude crash one of our club meetings. Fucken scary. Cuz the way he was framing questions was crazy. This girl in our club had done an interview for the school paper and he basically googled her and her answers.

Basically what you film gets chopped into segments. So, someone can ask you If you are proud of your accomplishments? and your answer can be "yes I am proud that I am a UCLA student despite being udocumented" the whole thing can get chopped to you saying " yes I am proud that I am undocumented" Just be careful with how you answer and word answers to questions. If you feel like is one of those either or fallacy questions ask for clarification on the question.

Yea NBC should be good though but FOX news are a bunch of fucking dirty bastards

yea FOX not even once ! Cant stand to watch a minute of FOX news

Ill make sure the questions are not loaded also make sure I do my best to talk about the other dreamers who are still pursuing the dream

Just be careful of your word usage. Be as direct as possible. Give all the meat at once as it applies within the context of the interview. As it is NBC I do not anticipate you will encounter the same hostility you would on Fox.
