Can I Apply for a Job Without a SSN?
 

I finally got the work permit last week and went to apply for my SSN the next day. I have been looking to apply for jobs but they ask for a SSN in the application. Can I still be hired w/o it? or do I have to wait until my SSN arrives on the mail?

You have to wait. Your SSN should come in the mail within a week.

You can apply for jobs using only your EAD as long as you have applied for a SSN.

All jobs will ask for a social security card, you can leave it empty while you fill out the job application and still go to interviews, but once you are actually hired, you have to provide them with the number

What's important is that you file your taxes by the time they are due. You can always update your job application and you can make changes to your W-4 as often as you want. I'd just let my employer know that I'd be getting a SSN soon, I'd also show them the SS printout stating that I applied for the number.
